In case you haven’t figured this out yet, the reason why models and other celebrities look so good in all the photos, movies, and commercials we see is because of makeup and Photoshop.
Sorry, Beyoncé, but we know you did not wake up like that.
But Tyra Banks recently decided to show us what she actually looks like when she wakes up.
SHOCKER – she has uneven skin and bags under her eyes, too! I thought that was just me! (No, I didn’t.)
The point is, you shouldn’t judge yourself up against the publicity photos of stars who are all done-up by professionals. They’re not naturally that glamorous, and you don’t need to try to look like that every day.
As you can read in her Instagram comment, Tyra wanted to show the world the “raw and real” her, truly and honestly #nofilter.
She’s not the only celebrity who has shared honest, stripped down selfies for the sake of showing the world that it’s normal to look imperfect. Kourtney Kardashian‘s un-made-up morning selfie went viral a few days ago.
Ellie Goulding posted this photo after a whole WEEK without makeup or alcohol.
Demi Lovato is all about being herself, and she has no shame showing off on “no makeup Mondays.”
I don’t know if Jennifer Aniston counts because she genuinely is perfect even without makeup, but there’s this.
Laverne Cox is not only bold enough to be in the public eye as a proud trans woman, but she’ll also show off her face and her body without makeup.
Cindy Crawford shared this photo to support UNICEF‘s #WakeUpCall challenge, which had many celebrities posting pictures of themselves when they just woke up.
So, there you have it – celebrities look just as tired and flawed as we “regular” people do without makeup! Thanks to these beautiful women for sharing their “raw and real” selves!
